Government of Canada is matching your donation to our African hunger relief work.
The biggest challenges need our fiercest love. We need to act now.
Right now, more than 4 million children under five in Africa are at risk of starvation, and they need your help. Failed rains have cost families their household farms, water sources and daily food. Others have been uprooted from their farms because of conflict. As a result, millions of people have been forced from their homes to search for food and to find safety. Thousands of unaccompanied and vulnerable children are among the more than one million South Sudanese refugees forced to make the dangerous, gruelling trek to Uganda.
Today, your support will go even further. When Canadians like you make a donation to World Vision Canada’s or another eligible charity’s work to address the African hunger crisis between March 17th and June 30th, 2017, the Canadian Government will match your donation dollar for dollar – one dollar from you becomes two dollars to make a difference in this crisis. Together, we can now bring even greater hope by providing life-saving food, water and more.
Currently, there are more than 20 million people in Nigeria, Somalia, South Sudan and Yemen in need of immediate assistance. When expanded to include other severely affected neighbouring countries, the number rises to 34 million.
World Vision is on the ground working to help save lives. But, we need your support. Together we can help children and families recover faster and stronger. Your support will multiply the impact.
