Every 15 minutes, another child becomes severely malnourished.
In Somalia, South Sudan and other countries, children have been hit especially hard as drought, conflicts and the COVID-19 pandemic have combined to create a life-threatening hunger crisis. Many fled their home and walked for days to get to an Internally Displaced People (IDP) camp in desperate need of food.
At this very moment, 1.4 million children in Somalia under the age of 5 are at risk of acute malnutrition. As this hunger crisis escalates, more families will be in need of life-saving food assistance, and even more children’s lives will be in danger.
Urgent life-saving action is needed now. Thanks to contribution from the World Food Programme and Canadian and international partners, your gift will multiply 5X in value to help distribute emergency food to refugee and vulnerable families and provide Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food for severely malnourished children.
