In terms of strength, Typhoon Mangkhut is the strongest tropical cyclone of the year according to the World Meteorological Organization.
World Vision staff are coordinating with both local and national government authorities for community updates and preparations and are ready to respond as needed.
“We are desperately concerned for the lives and safety of 10 million people living within the 900km diameter of Typhoon Mangkhut,” said Rommel Fuerte, National Director at World Vision Philippines. “This typhoon is likely to cause huge devastation. Millions of children are at risk.”
